Arabic Studies Program Arabic Studies Program
The CSUSB Arabic Studies Program launched one of the most comprehensive Arabic language intensive programs in the country in the summer of 2007. The first phase was a six-week-long residential program in which students from various campuses were immersed in Arabic language and culture through classroom instruction, activities and field trips. Students lived together, studied together and even prepared authentic meals here on campus. For the second phase of the program, the students returned to their home campuses continued the program through online courses, weekly meetings and weekend workshops. The final phase will take place this summer. The 22 students will travel to Jordan for six to eight weeks and study abroad at an international university where they will truly be immersed as they experience first-hand the Arabic language and cultures they have been learning about. To learn more about the Arabic Studies Program, please contact Dr. Dany Doueiri at ddoueiri@csusb.edu or (909) 537-5814.
